Applications are invited for the post of part-time official at the Tuen Mun District Leisure Services Office and Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department for the period from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Salary:(1) Assistant Instructors: (Elementary Level) HK$118 per hour(2) Assistant Camp Counsellor: Day Camp (3 to 5 hours): HK$224 per session Day Camp (5 to 8 hours): HK$352 per session Residential Camp: HK$1,053 or HK$1,073 per night(Depends on camps with instructors or not)(3) Assistant Leader: HK$68 or HK$82 per hour (Depends on type of activities)(4) Organizer: HK$105 per hour(5) Key Official: HK$82 per hour(6) Official: HK$76 per hour(7) Casual Helper: HK$55 per hour Entry Requirements: Candidates should:(a) be a Hong Kong Permanent Resident aged 18 or above;(b) have attained an education level of Form 3, or equivalent; and(c) be able to speak Cantonese fluently.
Possession of the following will be an advantage:(a) have attained an education level of Form 5 or equivalent or above;(b) general knowledge of spoken English/ some knowledge of Putonghua;(c) knowledge of Chinese and English word processing and general software applications (such as Microsoft Word and Excel/Power Point)/knowledge of computer graphics software applications;(d) basic knowledge of organising recreation and sports programmes and relevant experience;(e) a valid First Aid Certificate; and(f) experience in volunteer services.(g) holder of relevant certificate in sign language translation (including valid reference letter of relevant experience issued from employing institutions) or basic knowledge of organizing recreation and sports programmes for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and relevant experience.
Requirements for Assistant Instructor (Elementary Level) (if applicable):a) Judo: The Assistant Instructor should obtain Brown Belt or above qualification which recognized by The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China.b) Sport Climbing: The Assistant Instructor should obtain Sport Climbing Assistant Coach / Instructor Training Certificate or above qualification which issued by Hong Kong, China Mountaineering and Climbing Union.c) Archery: Priority consideration will be given to the Assistant Instructor obtaining Level I Coach or above qualification with valid coach registration at Archery Association Hong Kong, China.
Duties: (1) Assistant Instructor (Elementary Level)(a) Activities include: Long Distance Running, Gymnastics for All, Hydro Fitness, Judo, Wushu, Sport Climbing, Basketball, Volleyball, Rope Course, Tennis, Gymnastics, Archery Fun Day, Healthy Exercise for All – Outreaching for Elderly, Elderly Scheme – Fitness Fun Day, Healthy Outreaching Programme for PWDs and Recreation and Sports Programme for PWDs.(b) To assist instructor to organize recreation and sports activities such as training courses, Fun Days and Outreaching Programmes.(c) To take care of participants and assist in crowd control.(d) To handle general enquiries and ad hoc incidents.(2) Assistant Camp Counsellor(a) To assist Camp Counsellor for the arrangement during Day Camp or Residential Camp.(b) To take care of participants and assist in crowd control.(c) To introduce the facilities of camp site.(d) To handle general enquiries.(3) Assistant Leader:(a) To assist Leader to organize recreation and sports activities including Excursions and Hiking.(b) To take care of participants and assist in crowd control.(c) To handle general enquiries.(4) Organizer(a) To assist in the preparation, promotion and implementation of recreation and sports programmes or horticultural activities including sports competitions, fun days and carnivals.(b) To supervise Key Officials/ Officials/ Causal Helpers on event day.(c) To prepare documents for recreation and sports programmes or horticultural activities.(d) To handle general enquiries.(5) Key Official:(a) To supervise Officials / Causal Helpers on event day.(b) To assist in the preparation, promotion and implementation of recreation and sports programmes or horticultural activities and provide support services such as collating and compiling statistics, liaising with collaborating parties and arranging equipment and materials for programmes.(c) To perform general office clerical work.(d) To handle general enquiries.(6) Official:(a) To assist in the preparation, promotion and implementation of recreation and sports programmes or horticultural activities and provide support services such as collating and compiling statistics, liaising with collaborating parties and arranging for equipment and materials for programmes.(b) To perform general office clerical work.(c) To handle general enquiries.
Official (Smart PLAY*): Smart PLAY : A new intelligent sports and recreation services booking and information system of Leisure and Cultural Services Department(a) To assist in the preparation, promotion and implementation of recreation and sports programmes and Smart PLAY project;(b) To perform general clerical duties;(c) To provide support services for recreation and sports programmes and Smart PLAY promotion programmes, demonstration and related activities, such as collating and compiling statistics, liaising with collaborating parties, arranging for equipment and materials required for the programmes;(d) To assist the public to register as users and use of the Smart PLAY system and devices;(e) To assist in crowd control, daily operation and contingency arrangement; and(f) To handle enquiries on matter of Smart PLAY system and general enquiries.(7) Causal Helper(a) To follow the directives of supervising staff and assist in preparation, promotion and implementation of recreation and sports programmes.(b) To assist in arranging equipment and materials for programmes and assist in general operation duties at various sports and recreation venues.(c) To handle general enquiries.
Working Hours: Dependent on operational needs.
Part-time officials may be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Working Location: (a) Tuen Mun District Leisure Services Office(b) Recreation and sports venues in Tuen Mun District(c) Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre(d) Outdoor work may be required.
Terms of Appointment: Successful applicants will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms.
