Main Responsibilities: An excellent opportunity for joining the AML Team, this role focuses on the Bank's Private Banking (PB) business line with major responsibilities as follows -PB-focused Develop, formulate and update AML policies and procedures in Hong Kong Branch regarding the Bank's AML aspects (including for Private Banking); Review a wide range of account opening and client documentation submitted by frontline to ensure accuracy, completeness and in line with the Bank's compliance and KYC requirements and well as the regulatory requirements; Review clients' source of wealth (SOW) profiles, conducting background checks, and verifying supporting documents to ensure proper corroboration of SOW; Support and resolve PB related issues arise from on-onboarding / periodic review and for CDD documentation between front office and operations teams; Stay updated on evolving HKMA / SFC regulations and industry best practices to ensure onboarding policies remaining robust and effective; Provide AML/CFT training especially in relation to regulators' requirements to PB business and ensure all updated changes and requirements are effectively communicated to PB business; Advise front office (and other business units when applicable) on day-to-day AML related matters.
BAU and Projects Assist in reviewing alerts to identify suspicious transactions / activities and conduct investigation triggered by system alerts, and prepare SAR / STR filing document for related suspicious transactions when needed; Manage and participate in consultancy project and other ad-hoc tasks assigned; participate in system enhancement, UAT, and other continuous improvement projects assigned; Understand, and update any changes on the internal policies, operating manuals / checklist and make necessary communication to front office.
Requirements: University graduate in Law, Risk Management, Business Administration or related disciplines; Minimum 8 years' AML/CFT compliance experience in banking sector, of which there should be at least 4 years of SOW review / KYC / advisory experience earned in Private Banking setting; Possess solid knowledge of Private Banking operations, products, and services; With ECF-AML/CFT certification (CAMLP / AAMLP) or CAMS designation a definite advantage; Immediately available is highly preferred; Good command of both spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Mandarin is highly preferred); Self-motivated, independent with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and Attentive to details, compliance and control oriented, diligent and proactive.
Candidate with less experience will be considered for the Assistant Manager position.
