Responsibilities: Designing and supervising the construction of structural framework, foundation, piling and site formation works for Government building projects; Advising on maintenance to the structures of existing Government buildings; Checking structural submissions; Carrying out project management duties; Requirements: Corporate Members of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Structural or Civil Discipline) elected after 5 December 1975, or equivalent; (Note: For holders of qualifications in the Civil Discipline, experience in structural engineering design and practice is required.)Have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. Notes: Candidates should clearly specify the discipline of their corporate membership and give a detailed account of their qualifications and experience in their applications, enclosing copies of supporting documents. Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
