WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLEThe Senior Sustainability Manager, APAC, will sit within tms, Packaging, Sustainability team. The Sustainability team supports the delivery of client Sustainability strategic objectives, focused on product and supply chain, through operations, reporting and legislation tracking. To do so our team collaborates with key stakeholders across various internal and client cross-functional teams, Suppliers, Consultants and external organisations. Our global Sustainability team sits across 3 geographic regions, supporting global, regional and market activities. In this role, your work will be pivotal in supporting our Clients in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) markets’ in the development and delivery of their sustainability strategies for packaging. All whilst navigating the legislative landscape, ensuring strategic objectives are met alongside legislative compliance for their foodservice packaging portfolio. Primary objectives of this role include the following: Manage the alignment of Global sustainability strategy and local markets requirements for the APAC region within the Packaging category, ensuring best practice and continual development to meet client needs. Working cross-functionally to develop circular approaches and processes, delivering strategic priorities in a consistent manner. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with key external stakeholders to support functional activities, sharing and communicating insights at a client and tms level. Act as subject matter expert in navigating a complex legislative landscape across the APAC markets. Provide subject matter expertise and leadership-level support for initiatives led by the client and other tms departments. Operate as the primary point of contact for product-related client requests, gaining internal and external support where required. Manage communications with key stakeholders at both client and tms level. Ensure that the sustainability function enhances business performance, adds value and supports the client's and tms long-term interests. Lead project based sustainability initiatives, managing the Sustainability resource capabilities as required to deliver upon client expectations. WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATIONSustainability Experience Experience of working in sustainable packaging in a corporate environment Demonstrated successes in strategic sustainable packaging projects Sustainability legislation interpretation experience Experience of sustainability performance tracking and reporting Communications Ability to develop and present complex information to a range of audiences Fluency in English (written and verbal)Excellent written and verbal communication skills SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVEMinimum of 5 years’ professional experience with sustainable packaging Experience with sustainability legislation within APACLeading strategic sustainability initiatives for packaging with a focus on materials, circular economy, and other relevant aspects. Experience taking global strategy and applying this to a complex regional landscape. Client management expertise with a high level of articulation around relevant topics (circularity, legislation, procurement). Experience managing both internal and external sustainability communications. Evidence of experience in helping global brands deploy more sustainable solutions. Experience with sustainability reporting for large global brands. Evidence of strategy development for wider company product ranges.
