Responsibilities
Prepare timely, accurate financial statements and management reports, including monthly variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and tax filing obligations.
Partner with local finance teams in Zambia and Congo, and with operations, to collect and validate data for insightful financial and business analysis.
Coach and develop finance team members across Hong Kong and Africa to strengthen capability and performance.
Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems, including accounting software alignment, chart of accounts governance, and standard operating procedures.
Support ad‑hoc projects and financial analyses, as required.
Travel to Africa as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
Strong organizational skills with proven problem‑solving and multitasking ability.
8+ years of experience in financial reporting, with Big 4 audit experience preferred (candidates with straight audit backgrounds will also be considered).
Experience in special projects, including financial due diligence, is an advantage.
Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Sun) and Microsoft Office.
Mining industry experience is a strong advantage.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Good business sense, adaptable, independent, proactive, and self‑motivated.
Comfortable leveraging AI tools to improve productivity and quality.
Willingness to travel to Africa, as required.
