The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a dedicated museum that showcases the exquisite artefacts from Palace Museum’s collections and collaborates with other museums in research, exhibitions, education and public programmes. The museum comprises 7,800 square metres of gallery space for standing and special exhibitions on Palace Museum’s collections of paintings, calligraphy, antiquities and historical objects, as well as thematic displays on world cultures and civilisations.(This is a fixed-term contract position of 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.)You will be responsible for: Assisting supervisor on a variety of writing, editing, editorial calendar planning, workflow coordinating, fact checking, source verification and information research; Supporting in monitoring and reviewing the production details of publications, articles, multimedia content, online text, or other written materials; Coordinating with other teams within the Museum, coordinating with relevant Departments under the Authority to ensure the content and materials are aligning with standards and requirements; Liaising with vendors including but not limited to writers, translators, copy-editors, etc. to ensure the writing materials are provided within specified timeline and with high quality; Supporting the team in document management, scheduling meetings and procurement process; and Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor when deemed necessary. You should: Possess a recognised university degree in Languages, Literature, Art History, History, Journalism, or other relevant disciplines; Have at least 3 years of experience in publication or editing related to art or culture; possess In Design and typesetting skills is a plus; Have solid editing experience in creating innovative and solid publications for the general public in English or Chinese in the arts and cultural fields; English language editorial and translation skills are highly preferable; Have experience in collaborating with different internal and external stakeholders and conducting research, checking and verifying facts; Demonstrate good editing or copywriting skills, attentive to details and can-do attitude; Be creative, mature, independent and a problem solver; Have a good understanding of project and budget management; and Be proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
