Renaissance College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced Communications Manager to lead the College's external communication.
Job Summary
As a core member of the Communications Team, you will lead the College’s external communication. This content-focused role is responsible for bridging the gap between the College Leadership Team and the wider community (families, students, alumni, and partners). You will oversee the school’s digital presence, manage high-quality publications, and drive engagement through social media and branding activities.
Main Accountabilities
Content Leadership
Lead external communications by writing and editing high-level announcements, parent notifications, and media releases based on guidance from College Leadership.
Oversee all school publications, including the weekly e-newsletter, annual school magazine, Yearbook, and Annual Report, ensuring content is tailored to various stakeholders.
Manage the school’s digital ecosystem, including the website, alumni site, and mobile app (ESF App), ensuring all information is accurate, up-to-date, and visually engaging.
Handle urgent communications, assisting School Management in broadcasting emergency information or school closure notifications.
Social Media & Branding
Manage and grow the College’s social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, and X.
Plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote school achievements and events, exploring new platforms to expand the College’s reach.
Act as an internal consultant, advising students, teachers, and staff on effective ways to market their specific events and initiatives.
Monitor the media environment in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area to ensure the College remains competitive and culturally relevant.
Event Coverage & Multimedia Management
Direct event documentation, attending and photographing/filming College events.
Maintain a centralised database of project assets, media files, and images to ensure long-term archival and easy retrieval.
Collaborate with the ESF Centre Communications Team on ESF-wide initiatives, photoshoots, and promotional activities.
Operations & Administration
Support the tender process for communication-related services and manage the commissioning of external vendors for various projects.
Facilitate mentorship projects and provide administrative support as required by the Business Manager and Principal.
Safeguarding & Data Privacy
Maintain a proactive “student‑first” mindset, ensuring all communication materials reflect a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for children.
Strictly manage the use of student images and personal information, ensuring full compliance with College and ESF privacy policies and parental consent registries.
Ensure all content (social media, newsletters, magazines) adheres to child protection guidelines and does not expose students to digital risks.
Skills, Attitudes & Knowledge
Technical Proficiency
Digital Tools: Expertise in Mail Chimp (or similar mass‑mailing tools) and the Google Suite environment.
Design: Experienced in developing high‑quality, on‑brand visual content using Canva, Power Point, or Adobe In Design/Photoshop.
Web Management: Basic web editing skills, including HTML/stylesheet knowledge and experience with Word Press or similar CMS.
Branding: Previous experience with Google Ads and Google Analytics is advantageous.
Experience & Qualifications
Education: University degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Language: Excellent command of written and spoken English (native/near‑native proficiency preferred) with a sophisticated eye for proofreading.
Industry Background: Previous experience in an international school environment and a deep understanding of the Hong Kong media landscape are highly advantageous.

Requirements
Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
Background Check: Successful candidates will be required to undergo a sexual conviction record check (SCRC).
