Project Nature:
To deliver IT support throughout the implementation of the department CONtrol System (ICONS) at the redeveloped Huanggang Port (new HG).
Duties:
Serve a contract assignment under Info Tech's headcount, full-time second to serve the Department;
To perform various tasks for the implementation of ICONS at New HG;
To collect user requirement and provide technical support in system design and analysis;
To provide IT support and advice in various system tests of the ICONS at New HG;
To assist in the review of the deliverables prepared by contractors to assure the quality and compliance with latest government standards;
To perform diagnosis with contractors on technical issues and monitor the progress of the remedy actions; and
To perform any other duties as may be required for meeting the department's business needs.
Requirements:
Experience in providing technical support on system implementation of multi-vendor mission critical systems;
Experience in database design to support application requirements and reporting needs;
Experience in integration with third-party systems;
Proficiency in Putonghua;
The contract staff is required to take up on-call duty;
The contract staff will normally work in the department HQ at Tseung Kwan O and office at Wan Chai, and occasionally provide support at various Immigration control points and offices;
The contract staff will have to work outside normal office hours occasionally to meet the operational needs;
Criminal record check is required.
Technical Skills:
At least 2 years' experience in Client/Server Application Development;
At least 1 year's experience in Enterprise Application Integration;
At least 1 year's experience in J2 EE Development;
At least 1 year's experience in Multi-tier System Integration.
Non-technical Skill:
At least 1 year's experience in software testing.
Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
