Director, Category Strategy and Innovation
Our client is looking for a high calibre to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Lead global category growth by creating strategies that drive results now while building systems for future success (innovation processes, new market entry)
Set strategic priorities and align marketing, supply chain, and R&D teams to maximize ROI and competitive strength
Use consumer and market data to develop positioning strategies that work across different markets, then launch campaigns and promotions that keep brand messaging consistent while adapting to local needs
Analyze what consumers need and how they make purchasing decisions by combining research methods (interviews, sales data, market studies) to find new business opportunities and product improvements
Monitor market trends, competitors, pricing, and innovations to spot gaps and adjust strategies to maintain or grow market position
Align regional teams on shared category goals while adapting global plans to fit local markets
Work with Brand, Supply Chain, Legal, R&D, Regulatory, Packaging, and Finance teams to launch new products, solve problems, and deliver campaigns on time and on budget
Set long‑term vision, make bold decisions, and lead teams through change to hit growth targets
Successfully coordinate stakeholders without direct authority to deliver complex projects like new product launches and global campaigns
Analyze consumer behavior and market data to create strategies that deliver measurable business results
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration
Minimum 10 years of marketing experience within Food/FMCG sectors; regional or multi‑market exposure preferred
Experienced team leader with 5+ years of people management and/or cross‑functional leadership without formal authority
Minimum 6 years in multi‑market or global roles with substantial new product development expertise; brand development and/or food category and condiment sector experience preferred
Fluent in spoken and written Cantonese/Mandarin and English
