Responsibilities
Marine Regional Operations
Oversee and manage all vessel and terminal operations across the APAC region.
Ensure schedule integrity, operational performance, and adherence to procurement terms.
Supervise coastal schedules and support business units on operational feasibility and exceptions.
Drive cost‑saving initiatives and continuous improvement in port operations.
Resolve escalated operational issues from local offices and regional teams.
Port & Terminal Performance
Negotiate and supervise vessel‑related activities (pilotage, tug services, bunkering, husbandry) in line with HQ guidelines.
Lead terminal performance analysis, ensuring KPI achievement and productivity targets.
Manage terminal‑related damage claims in collaboration with Port Ops managers.
Support procurement in acquiring new services and maintaining strong relationships with terminals.
Business Unit Support
Provide insights on terminal restrictions, availability, and negotiate berthing windows with terminals.
Deliver cost and feasibility assessments for handling operational exceptions.
Leadership & People Development
Lead, coach, and develop Port Ops and DG teams across the region.
Collaborate with Global Ops, Area Management, and HR to drive professional growth and advancement.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Ship’s Captain and Chief Officer on ocean‑going container vessels.
At least 3 years of experience as a Port Captain or Operations Manager in a container shipping company.
Academic / Professional Credentials: Degree or Higher Diploma in Nautical Studies, or Valid Master (Captain / Class 1) license.
Strong leadership and decision‑making skills with a proven record in managing large‑scale marine operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
Ability to work effectively across cultures and with diverse stakeholders in the APAC region.
