Finance Controller(Chinese Fintech Company)
To lead the full controllership of the Chinese Fintech business unit in a fast‑growing, regulated environment. The role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, ensuring full compliance with both PRC and HK‑listed group requirements, and acting as a strategic finance partner to local management while supporting group‑level consolidation and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all accounting, financial reporting and consolidation processes (PRC GAAP + HKFRS/IFRS) and ensure timely, accurate monthly/quarterly/annual closes for both local statutory and group reporting.
Own regulatory compliance across fintech‑specific regulations (PBOC, CSRC, CBIRC, SAFE, PIPL, etc.) and HK‑listed group standards including internal control policies and HKEX disclosure requirements.
Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, FP&A and performance reporting to support rapid business scaling and management decision‑making.
Manage treasury functions including cash management, liquidity planning, FX exposure, banking relationships and funding optimisation in a multi‑currency fintech operation.
Strengthen and monitor internal control framework (SOX‑equivalent / COSO), coordinate with internal/external auditors and implement remediation plans.
Oversee tax compliance (CIT, VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing) and work closely with group tax and legal teams on cross‑border matters.
Lead and develop a high‑performing local finance team while fostering close collaboration with group finance, IT, risk, compliance and business units.
Support strategic initiatives including fund‑raising, M&A, digital transformation projects and potential group‑level capital market activities.
Act as key finance business partner to the China CEO and senior leadership, providing insights on profitability, cost discipline and investment appraisal.
Requirements
Qualified CPA (HKICPA, ACCA, Chinese CPA or equivalent); Big 4 training strongly preferred.
Minimum 8 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a Financial Controller or equivalent role within fintech, financial services or technology companies.
Solid experience working in a HK‑listed group environment or handling group consolidation and HKEX compliance.
Deep knowledge of PRC accounting standards, tax regulations and fintech regulatory landscape.
Hands‑on experience in treasury, cash pooling, internal controls and audit liaison.
Proven team leadership and stakeholder management skills across Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Mandarin (Cantonese is a strong advantage).
High energy, detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, matrixed fintech setting.
