Job Description - ANALYST, Specialists, Equities Operations, Vickers Securities (WD73963)Job Description Job Objective Work with a team of members in CA Support to provide quality back office processing of corporate action activities to different customer segments and assist the team in adhering to regulatory requirements, bank policies, operational procedures, performance standards, and service turnaround times. Key Responsibilities: Perform and ensure quality back office processing of corporate action activities according to SLAs with BUs and external providers, following the Department Operation Manual and regulatory requirements. Ensure all transactions are properly authorized before processing and meet stipulated requirements; report issues immediately to supervisor. Handle client inquiries and liaise with custodians on corporate action events. Understand and comply with bank policies on information protection, security, and regulatory standards; report problems and exceptions promptly. Collaborate with supervisor and team members to achieve team goals and participate in team-building activities. Accept and execute duties assigned by the supervisor. Functional Responsibilities Support daily operations related to local and overseas corporate actions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Ensure task completion by end of day. Coordinate funding activities with custodians, counterparts, and nostro banks, including redemptions, subscriptions, and payments. Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts. Investigate and resolve exceptions or discrepancies. Suggest workflow improvements. Participate in corporate action or system projects, UAT, and ad-hoc assignments as appropriate. Key Accountabilities Process corporate action entitlements accurately and timely per operational standards. Coordinate and follow up on discrepancies, escalating issues as needed. Meet corporate action deadlines to minimize exposure. Resolve or escalate problems promptly, documenting all occurrences. Proactively investigate discrepancies with custodians. Respond to emails and instructions timely. Contribute ideas for process improvements and risk mitigation. Assist in preparing operational and MIS reports. Perform GL and system record checks and escalate discrepancies. Handle customer complaints tactfully and efficiently. Act as coordinator for various tasks assigned by supervisor. Assist in BCP drills to ensure operational resilience. Understand and report on regulatory and compliance issues. Support in risk assessments and rectify non-compliance issues. Participate in system testing and process enhancement projects. Promote team morale and professional culture. Maintain self-development to keep skills current. Minimum 2 years’ experience in corporate action or custodial operations. Good understanding of corporate action processes; equities settlement knowledge is a plus. Functional / Technical Competencies Ability to follow guidance and instructions. Attention to detail and ownership of results. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving skills and adaptability. Support for Hong Kong public holidays may be required. Detail-oriented with a control mindset, capable of working under tight deadlines. Motivated and able to work under pressure. Proficiency in MS Office. Education and Professional Qualification University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
