The position, reporting directly to the Asia Chief Agency Officer, is part of a small team in Chief Distribution Office with region-wide responsibility for accelerating the growth of Agency distribution in Asia. The department acts as a regional centre of expertise. Its members work collaboratively with individual Country/Market Agency management teams and horizontally across other regional functions to enable Country/Markets to meet their agency-related growth targets with an overarching objective on delivering Asia’s sustainable growth. The main accountability of this position is to enable and accelerate the growth and development of the Agency distribution channel. The incumbent plays a vital role in assisting the Asia Chief Agency Officer in developing Agency playbook which includes framework, guidelines, policies, best practices and processes; and in monitoring the progress and effectiveness of the growth of Agency business in Asia. The incumbent is also accountable for promoting Agency best practices among the different markets, assisting in reviews of Agency management and making recommendations on agency compensations and agency incentives design changes; and providing advice and influence over technology and AI/AA related drivers that impact agency related deliverables. Frequent travel and short-term assignments in Asia markets may be required. Position Responsibilities Provide diagnostic advice to market and provide effective solutions to accelerate agency growth, including but not limited to introducing change initiatives on corrective actions, putting urgency to driving meaningful initiatives, Assist Agency operations within Asia to help ensure that they achieve their targeted growth. Assist the Regional Chief Agency Officer to developing strategy and initiatives to grow the Agency force among Asia markets. Work with local Agency management to implement same. Review and recommend changes to or replacement of compensation and Agency management systems to improve agency recruitment, productivity, retention and business quality within pricing PRE. Once accepted, assist local Agency management to implement the necessary changes. As appropriate, may be stationed within the territory to oversee the implementation. Actively contribute to Regional Agency management by providing technical expertise in some or all of Agency best practice, strategy implementation, Agency Operations improvement and Agency responsibility for assisting local Agency management in these areas. Act as the Centre of Expertise in managing projects, collecting and analysing data, providing insight and information on local Agency Operations, developing innovative solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiency across the region, and providing specific expertise. The above may require the incumbent to collaborate with other adjacent functions such as Advanced Analytics, Lead Management. Required Qualifications University degree and/or industry-related professional designation(s) (e.g. CLU, CFP)10 or more years progressive leadership experience in the insurance industry, including at least five years of Agency management. The incumbent must have one or both of experience in a sophisticated Agency environment within a mature market or varied experience in multiple developing markets Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and strong influencing and negotiation skills, in order to achieve objectives through indirect management Ability to develop and implement strategy and lead changes Excellent communication skills – presenting to senior executives within the region Sound business, product and operations knowledge Demonstrated success in Agency management, training and sales system monitoring and review processes Knowledge of Financial Planning and related products technologies Self-motivated, self-development oriented, assertive, driving for results and quality Ability to operate independently and maintain high levels of effectiveness and productivity. Supervision is diffused and results-directed, so incumbent must choose priorities and make sound decisions with review taking place after the fact.
