Equity Research Analyst (Multiple Roles for Technology & Internet, Consumption and Financial Sector)What the role is?Newly established roles to contribute to equity research in our Investment Team. Each analyst shall conduct comprehensive research in one of the following sectors in Hong Kong SAR and onshore China: i) Technology and Internet; ii) Consumption; iii) Financial, including A and H shares and ADR, analysing financial statements, business fundamentals, and competitive positioning. Evaluate company management, corporate governance practices, and strategic initiatives to assess long-term growth potential. Develop and maintain industry databases, peer comparison, and individual financial models to forecast company performance and assess valuation metrics. Perform sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact on investment outcomes. Prepare detailed research reports highlighting key findings, investment thesis, financial forecasts, and valuation as well as key catalysts and risks. Conduct thorough due diligence by engaging with company management and various stakeholders in the supply chain. Participate in company briefings, industry events, roadshows, and sell-side conferences to enhance comprehension and insights into publicly traded entities. Collaborate with other team members and management to generate comprehensive investment recommendations and portfolio strategies. What we look for?Bachelor’s degree required, with or pursuing professional qualifications such as CFA or CPA preferred. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in sell-side equity research specialising in the corresponding sector is preferred. Ideally, also have experience covering a diverse range of industries to bring a broad perspective to investment analysis. Demonstrate a strong interest in financial markets, with a passion for conducting in-depth analysis of stocks and securities. Capable of working effectively in a team environment, sharing insights and collaborating with colleagues to generate investment ideas. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyse complex financial data and make informed decisions. Proficient in financial modelling and different valuation techniques while embracing innovation and new technologies, seeking out opportunities to enhance research processes. Willing to travel for on-site company visits, industry conferences, and research trips as required. Able to communicate research outcomes clearly and concisely for different stakeholders (including technical and non-technical audiences). Proficient in both spoken and written English.
