Insurance Finance Reporting - Insurance Business Finance Department Hang Seng's Financial Control function works closely with the Bank's stakeholders, including business partners, shareholders, regulators and external examiners.

We function as their accountants and business partners in providing comprehensive information on financial management, financial planning, financial reporting and compliance, capital planning and reporting, financial control & SOX control, tax advisory, insurance finance, and treasury and investment finance.

Insurance Business Finance Department ("ISF") is a business finance function supporting HASE insurance activities and we are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Insurance Finance Manager.

Principal responsibilities Participate in financial control and reporting including the preparation of audited financial statements of insurance manufacturing subsidiaries of Hang Seng under the HKFRSs 9 and 17 basis with robust control environment maintains.

Maintain the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports; controls and analysis for senior management of Hang Seng, or HSBC Group or forms requested by management and identify high risk areas or key issues to the business and help drive key insights and decision making or make recommendations where appropriate.

Have basic understanding in regular investment asset operation and management and provide input in Company and Group investment reporting at investment asset to ensure compliance with Company and Group reporting requirements.

Act as preparer or checker for financial reporting and analysis e.g.

month end closing, financial commentary analysis, Group reporting.

Participate in UAT like perrform testing on Qliksense dashboards in supporting the financial information to be presented.

Facilitate and monitor the progress of regular discussion with Project Consultant, Project work groups, local unit stakeholders.

Consider any change of new process with SOX risk and initiate any updates on FIMs / DIM.

Builds and maintains effective relationships with key local and global stakeholders like management of Bank, Group Insurance and business units to ensure effective communication and accurate interpretation of financial information or analysis.

Manage change, facilitate transition process, and evaluate any risk located with any implementation, communicate with related stakeholders (onshore and offshore teams) on change update and action.

Ensure proper control and governance in place, support annual tax filing and year-end audit work.

Consistently review and recommend improvement in current process to increase efficiency and reduce risk.

Work and oversee effectively with both onshore and offshore team, to maximize the available onshore business partnering time.

Support ad hoc matters and administration tasks related to the Department.

Requirements University degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial or a related discipline with a recognised professional accounting qualification Minimum 10 years' accounting / audit experience in sizable organizations, with exposure to insurance companies and with knowledge of insurance products.

Exposure to financial institutions or knowledge in actuarial principles is an advantage Independent, ability to work under pressure and in changing environment with strong communication, interpersonal and people managerial skills Self-motivated, high ownership of work product and dedication and commitment to driving results Strong business sense, coupled with good business partnering and ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders Solid analytical skills complemented by astute financial and business acumen Sound knowledge of application software such as MS Excel and Power Point Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes (Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Insurance Finance Manager) Visit Hang Seng Career Page and sign up with our Talent Community to receive the latest information about our career opportunities in Hang Seng Hong Kong.
