As a Senior Reporter for Campaign Asia-Pacific, you’ll help shape the publication’s coverage of the advertising, marketing, and media industries across the region. You’ll break news, lead high-impact stories, and drive thoughtful analysis that informs and challenges the industry’s top professionals.
Beyond filing stories, the role requires you to own coverage from the region, spot trends that matter, and drive the conversations that define Asia‑Pacific’s marketing landscape.
Key Responsibilities
1. Reporting and Writing
File high-quality stories that include exclusive news, features, and analysis across advertising, marketing, media, and communications.
Deliver 4–5 major lead stories per month that demonstrate depth, originality, and authority.
Generate timely, accurate, and well‑contextualised news that keeps Campaign’s audience informed on industry shifts, leadership moves, and strategic trends.
Proactively pitch story ideas based on regional developments and emerging themes.
2. Multimedia reporting
Develop and produce video stories that complement your reporting, offering additional depth and engagement for our audience.
Create social media content, including posts or short‑form videos, to amplify key stories and drive audience interaction.
Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, marketers, agencies, and media professionals to gain insight and secure exclusive interviews.
Attend and report on major industry events, including Campaign’s conferences and awards. Provide live updates and post‑event analyses.
Support Campaign’s editorial initiatives, including newsletters, high‑value reports and projects such as the Agency Report Cards, Power List, among others, as requested by the editor or the editorial director.
Work with the events, marketing, and awards teams to host, moderate, and conduct on‑stage or virtual sessions for Campaign conferences and awards.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in journalism, preferably within business, media, or marketing coverage.
Strong news sense and proven ability to develop original angles and exclusives.
Strong writing and interviewing skills in both English and Mandarin.
Ability to interpret industry data, financial results, and creative trends to produce contextual analysis.
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced digital newsroom and managing multiple priorities.
Experience producing multimedia or social‑first content is an advantage.
Well‑connected within Asia‑Pacific’s marketing and media ecosystem, or able to build networks quickly.
This role reports to the Editor of Campaign Asia‑Pacific.
Preferred location: Hong Kong
