About this role

As Software Development Lead in WeLend, you will be responsible for design, develop and deliver high-performance, high-traffic and high-throughput digital platform in the FinTech industry. You will work in an energetic team of a fast-growing tech company which share the common goal of driving technical excellence and deliver quality software. You will get plenty of chance to code, learn and build up your career in the FinTech domain.

What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role

Analyse, design, and develop new features to enhance our digital financial experiences.
Evaluating technology solutions, work with technology partners, and prepare proposals and recommendations to project stakeholders.
Implement new technologies via in-house research and development and/or external technology integration efforts.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure solutions fit within the overall architectural framework, business requirements, technology roadmap, and other constraints.
Lead a team of full-stack software developers and drive their performance.
Provide technical guidance to the team in delivery of technical solutions, perform code review and maintain coding standards and best practices.
Prepare technical documentations, including technical proposal, design document and engineering logs.
Explore modern development trends, tech stacks and tools, and influence the teams to adopt.
Conduct knowledge sharing sessions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
50% management and 50% hands-on coding

What is required and what we’re looking for

Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Engineering or related disciplines
At least 10 years’ relevant experience in software development/ architecture role in designing and developing both customer-facing and in-house software applications and systems.
Excellent skills and knowledge in one or more of the following programming languages and frameworks: Ruby on Rails, Go-Lang, Typescript, Python, ReactJS, Node.JS, Google Flutter, Java.
Familiar with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, GraphQL, and other SQL or NoSQL databases
Industrial experience in delivering advance technology projects such as OCR, Chatbot, Voicebot, eKYC, facial recognition, pattern recognition, image processing, AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data warehouse, ETL, Big Data, Payment gateway, etc.
Strong experience and knowledge in API, system integration, microservices, business reporting, OOP and software engineering concepts and best practices
Experience and knowledge in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP), modern CI/CD pipeline and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab, SonarQube, etc.
Proven track record in development and delivery in Agile/Scrum teams
Innovative and passionate in emerging technologies and enjoy a start-up environment.
Excellent communication skills, analytical skills and problem-solving skills
Fluent in verbal and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
