A global financial services organization is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to support a front‑office Commodities Trading Desk. This role sits close to traders and desk managers and requires deep familiarity with energy and metals markets, trading platforms, real-time market data, and time‑critical trading environments.

Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced, multi-level IT support to front‑office users on the Commodities Trading Desk.
Resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues with a strong focus on trading continuity.
Support trading activities across Precious Metals, Gas, and Power markets.
Handle incidents via ticketing systems, phone, and direct desk‑side support, prioritizing based on trading impact and urgency.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long‑term fixes.
Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to knowledge bases.
Trading & Market Systems Expertise
Trading platforms and terminals (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, ETRM systems)
Market data providers and exchanges (e.g., ICE, CME, LME, NYMEX, Platts)
Real‑time market data feeds
Order management systems (OMS)
Risk and P&L management systems for energy and metals
Proprietary, in‑house trading tools
Work closely with traders, desk managers, and business stakeholders to:
Understand trading workflows and technical requirements
Provide proactive guidance on optimal use of trading technologies
Infrastructure & Environment Support
Install, configure, and maintain trading floor workstations, laptops, and peripherals
Support standard and specialized trading software
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, and Wi‑Fi connectivity issues
Assist with hardware/software deployments, upgrades, and user acceptance testing
Participate in system patching and upgrades with minimal disruption to markets
Vendor & Platform Coordination
Act as a point of contact for external vendors and service providers
Manage and track escalated issues related to trading platforms and data feeds
Ensure timely resolution of vendor support tickets
Proactive Improvement
Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they impact trading
Continuously improve support processes, documentation, and tooling
Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with infrastructure, development, and security teams
Communicate clearly with both technical teams and front‑office users
Provide training and informal mentorship to junior support staff
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
7+ years of IT support experience in front‑office or trading environments
Strong experience supporting Commodities Trading Desks
Solid exposure to Precious Metals, Gas, and Power markets (strongly preferred)
Hands‑on experience with trading platforms and real‑time market data systems
Familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, and similar financial tools
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills in time‑sensitive situations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams
