JOB SUMMARY : Legal Counsel serves as team lead of the Legal & Compliance Department, reporting directly to CEO and Owner's Representative, in performing the proper departmental function in providing services to ensure that legal, contractual and compliance matters and risks are properly dealt with, and to protect and enhance the commercial and other interest of Glorise Tourism & Culture Co.
Limited (the "Company") and the project of Runway 1331 in which the Company invests and develops as well as any potential investment projects, while abiding by the framework of statutory requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Operational Leadership Develop and implement operational plans to achieve strategic objectives set by CEO and Owner's Representative.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Legal & Compliance Department, ensuring efficient workflows and resource allocation.
Implement process improvements and leverage technology to enhance productivity according to the annual departmental plan.
Functional Oversight Manage specific functional areas, including litigation management, regulatory compliance, and legal operations (including review, advice, revision and preparation of contracts/tender/legal or semi-legal documents with customers, contractors, suppliers, business/joint venture partners, and Government etc., and discussing the contract/deal negotiation strategy with business units/departments concerned).
Supervise the implementation of compliance programs, ensure adherence to the Company's policies and procedures.
Instruct external counsel on an as-needed basis and manage external counsel's costs and performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the interface between Legal & Compliance Department and other business units/departments, providing timely and solution-oriented guidance and advice.
Collaborate with the Executive Committee, business unit heads, functional leads and hostel COO to integrate legal and compliance considerations into business decisions.
Risk Management and Compliance Assist in identifying and addressing legal, regulatory, and compliance risks.
Oversee business activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement legal and compliance training initiatives and policy updates.
Strategic Support Support the Company in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects and providing support from the legal and compliance perspective.
PERSON REQUIREMENTEducation Level: Tertiary Field of Study: Law Years of Experience: Post-qualification Experience of not less than 5 years Area of Experience: Corporate and/or Commercial and/or Hospitality.
Preferably not less than 2 years in-house legal experience.
