On-site Full Time 3 year or below Entry level Job Description Applicant must have a Ph D degree or be expected to obtain a Ph D degree by the time of appointment and be legally permitted to work in Hong Kong. He/she must be able to communicate in Japanese or English at a level that does not interfere with work execution. Applicant should be proficient in any/multiple of the following areas: Programming in C/C++/C#Practical experience with robotic arms, kinematics, dynamics and trajectory planning Knowledge in Control Theory Experience in developing simulations and using physics/dynamics engines Experience in mechanism design & CADThe objective of this research is to realize a smart robotic system that does not require pre-programming or customization and is widely applicable to the automation of garment handling. We are looking for a candidate who has experience, research achievements, and interest in the following research topics, and who is willing to work energetically on them: Sensing and modelling of three-dimensional environments. Development of general-purpose robot hands and mechanisms for grasping flexible objects and motion planning strategies for robots. Flexible object handling using a dual robot arm system and visual servoing. Development of simulation systems, including but not limited to flexible materials and system integration for industrial applications. Selected applicant will be working together at the Hong Kong Science Park with a research team from the Department of Robotics in Tohoku University and will be assigned a specific topic from the aforementioned areas.
