In addition to supporting teaching activities, the TA will act as a facilitator, providing guidance to students and staff where required. Furthermore, in the absence of the teacher with teaching responsibilities, the TA will step in to lead classes and ensure continuity of learning. Additionally, the TA will be responsible for the upkeep of the Art labs, supplies, and equipment as well as budget and ordering materials for the course. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYAdministrative Support and assist the Middle School Teachers with the daily clerical and administrative functions including filing music and scripts, copying music, and organizing and formatting spreadsheets for rehearsals and performances. Submit booking requests as required (e.g. concerts, productions, classes) and provide assistance in coordinating festivals. Order, Maintain, and Process the Budget. Events Support in the preparation of concerts and productions by proofreading/editing programs, submitting programs for printing, flower arrangements, and catering services. Facilitate the setting up of concerts and production by coordinating with the School’s AV Technician and MS Tech Coach with technical needs. Supervision of students, chaperones, and transportation requirements. Induction Assist and/or facilitate small ensemble rehearsing groups of young performers and musicians. This facilitation may take place with or without direct teacher supervision and direction. Other Undertake other duties and functions as required that will impact and strengthen the contributions of the department and overall operations of the school. Education MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSSecondary Experience2 years in a similar role Skills Successful work experience with students aged between 11 and 14 Good understanding and working knowledge of Art concepts, principles and genres including print, 3-dimensional and multi-media. Experience in clay, ceramics and sculpture will be a plus Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Fluent written and spoken English, (Cantonese, Mandarin and/or other language a plus)Child Protection Statement At HKIS, each child’s welfare is paramount.
