Regional Director of Production (East Asia)
The Regional Director of Production position is located in Dongguan, Guangdong, China, and is responsible for overseeing and managing production processes, supplier sourcing, and team operations across East Asia, including two teams in China and one in Vietnam. This role is critical to ensuring successful outcomes for our clients by maintaining efficient production workflows, proactively solving issues, and building strong, reliable supply chains with quality suppliers.
This individual will collaborate closely with manufacturers, troubleshoot project challenges as they arise, and lead local production teams to meet business goals. They will be responsible for sourcing and onboarding suppliers, managing the full supply chain lifecycle, and supporting product development in alignment with client expectations.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in product development, team leadership, and supply chain management, and is comfortable communicating directly with American clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the regional production teams in China and Vietnam, ensuring smooth execution of all projects and alignment with business goals.
Source, onboard, and maintain strong relationships with high-quality manufacturers and suppliers, building a robust and scalable supply chain network.
Provide ongoing training and development to manufacturers, ensuring adherence to production timelines, quality standards, and internal SOPs.
Oversee and troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and project-related issues as they arise, acting quickly to resolve bottlenecks and maintain momentum.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, design, engineering, logistics, and client-facing teams to ensure seamless handoffs and alignment across the production lifecycle.
Monitor and enforce compliance with both industry regulations and internal policies across the supply chain.
Track and report on key production metrics, including supplier performance, regional revenue, and project timelines, ensuring adherence to performance targets and internal SOPs.
Ensure successful client outcomes by proactively managing production risks, keeping deliverables on track, and maintaining transparency with internal and external stakeholders.
Continuously optimize operations, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and supplier development across regions and categories.
Manage complex supply chains, ensuring that all components are delivered on time, at the right quality, and in line with client specifications.
Serve as the regional point of contact for strategic production decisions and escalations, providing expert insight and maintaining accountability throughout the supply chain.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in supply chain management, production, or product development, ideally in a client-facing role
Advanced proficiency in English (C1 or higher), with the ability to communicate fluently and professionally with U. S.-based clients and stakeholders
Proven experience managing regional or cross-border teams in East Asia
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier evaluation in multiple categories (e.g., hard goods, soft goods, electro-mechanical)
Comfortable working with American clients and bridging communication across cultures and time zones
Willingness and availability to attend after-hours work calls as needed
Ability to assess and improve supply chain resilience, supplier performance, and production quality
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex issues with urgency and clarity
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
