About the Role
We are looking for a self-driven Marketing Manager who can own both digital strategy and event execution. You will lead campaigns, manage budgets, and deliver cultural events end-to-end — all while working independently. You won't be alone: you'll have a dedicated UI/UX professional, a remote design team, and a business development team that steps in when projects scale up. Key Responsibilities
Performance Marketing & Audience Growth: Plan and run ROI-driven campaigns across Google Ads and Meta/IG Ads to drive event registrations and community engagement. Manage ad budgets efficiently, own our social channels (Instagram, Facebook, You Tube), and identify opportunities on emerging platforms like Xiaohongshu and Douyin.
Event Management & Cultural Programming: Take ownership of our events — from exhibitions and public lectures to large-scale cultural festivals. Handle logistics, vendor and venue coordination, and on-the-ground execution. Align programming with our cultural partners and academic institutions, and drive marketing before and after each event to maximise reach and attendance.
Teamwork & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work independently but never in isolation. Partner with a dedicated UI/UX professional on digital experiences, brief the remote design team on creative needs, and call on the business development team when a project demands broader coordination. Liaise with agency partners on paid ads and SEO.
AI & Innovation: Use AI tools — Chat GPT, Midjourney, automation scripts — to work smarter across content, campaigns, and reporting. Stay current on generative AI and emerging ad formats to keep our cultural storytelling fresh and competitive.
Entrepreneurial Execution: Own your KPIs: audience growth, website traffic, event attendance, and campaign ROI. Test new channels boldly, iterate quickly, and scale what works.
Requirements
Education: Degree in Marketing, Business, Arts Management, Events Management, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in performance marketing with budget management. Proven event planning and management experience, ideally in a cultural, arts, or NGO setting.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and Excel/Sheets. Comfortable with AI and automation tools (Chat GPT, ad scripting, analytics).
Attributes: Highly self-motivated; thrives working independently across multiple workstreams. Adaptable and eager to test new platforms.
Languages: Professional English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin accepted).
Nice-to-Have: Passion for Chinese art, culture, and heritage. Basic design sensibility (Photoshop, Canva).
