Overview Associate (U. S. Qualified) – Debt Capital Markets | International Law Firm An international law firm is seeking to appoint a US-qualified Associate to join its Debt Capital Markets (DCM) practice in Hong Kong. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, cross-border transactions and to contribute to a leading platform in Asia. Solid grounding in New York law Familiarity with Greater China Strong drafting and negotiation skills Candidate Profile We are seeking candidates with 1–4 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), admitted in the United States (New York admission strongly preferred). The successful candidate will demonstrate: Solid grounding in New York law, Debt Capital Markets (DCM) transactions, including high-yield and investment-grade offerings. Experience advising on restructuring matters, with the ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional complexities, is advantageous. Familiarity with Greater China or Southeast Asia equity work, reflecting exposure to regional markets and cross-border deal structures. Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with attention to detail and precision in complex documentation. Ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines, demonstrating resilience and commercial awareness. Clear and persuasive communication skills, both written and oral, with the capacity to advise sophisticated clients. Collaborative mindset, able to work seamlessly with colleagues across practice groups and jurisdictions. Exclusions Candidates whose experience is primarily focused on Hong Kong IPOs or Equity Capital Markets (ECM) will not be suitable for this role. Remuneration and Career Development U.
