Recruit Ref: L Posting Date: The Cookware Company Global Sourcing Limited Product Designer Role Overview As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative and functional products for both the Small Domestic Appliances (SDA) and Hardgoods categories, including kitchenware, bakeware, and tableware.
This role requires a creative mindset, strong technical skills, and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring high-quality, market-driven designs to life.
Responsibilities Include but not limit to: Design and Development: Create innovative and functional product designs for SDA and Hardgoods categories, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and cost.
Develop 3 D models, technical drawings, and prototypes using design software.
Market Research: Analyze industry trends, customer needs (US and EU), and competitor products to identify design opportunities and improvements.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure designs meet technical, functional, and production requirements.
Understand the design of competitors how to affect the tooling and costing.
Testing and Optimization: Develop and test prototypes, refine designs based on feedback, and ensure product compliance with safety and quality standards.
Documentation: Prepare detailed design specifications and maintain accurate records for all product designs and updates.
PROFILEBachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in product design, preferably in SDA and/or hardgoods (kitchenware, bakeware, tableware).
Proficiency in design software such as Solid Works, Auto CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production techniques for both SDA and hardgoods is highly preferred.
Fluent in English, with excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global teams and external partners.
Creative problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and functionality.
Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to SDA and hardgoods manufacturing.
Experience in sustainability-focused design and cost optimization is a plus.
