Banquet Sous Chef – Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong
The Banquet Sous Chef assists in creating and executing innovative, visually appealing dishes while managing and developing the banquet kitchen team.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Assisting in planning and executing Chinese and Western banquet menus for weddings, corporate events, and celebrations
Overseeing food preparation, ensuring authenticity, quality, and presentation
Working closely with the event service team to ensure seamless service during events
Collaborating with the catering sales team to understand client needs and customize menus for special events
Sourcing ingredients, maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed
Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and ensuring food safety and HACCP standards are met
Requirements
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a high‑end culinary environment, with at least 5 years focused on banquet operations
Knowledge in both Chinese and Western banquet cuisines, with a strong understanding of diverse culinary techniques
Experience in managing high‑volume banquet operations
Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to understand and accommodate dietary restrictions
A passion for culinary innovation and creativity, particularly in modernizing traditional dishes
