Senior Finance Manager
Our client is a HK listed company with global operations. Currently, they have a new headcount and are recruiting a seasoned Senior Finance Manager in their Hong Kong office to speed up their business growth.
About the Role
Lead and own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely management and statutory reporting.
Prepare consolidated and entity-level financial statements, management accounts, variance analysis and commentaries for internal and group reporting.
Coordinate with group finance to ensure alignment with group accounting policies, reporting standards and timetables.
Drive the annual budgeting process, working closely with business and R&D leaders to build realistic yet ambitious financial plans.
Prepare rolling forecasts, scenario analyses and profitability reviews to support management's decision-making on resource allocation and investment priorities.
Develop meaningful KPIs and dashboards covering both financial and operational metrics tailored to an R&D-heavy business (e.g. project spend, milestone-based costs, cash runway).
Design and implement improved internal controls, policies and SOPs that balance governance requirements with operational practicality.
Lead or support the selection, implementation and optimisation of finance systems and tools (e.g. ERP, reporting modules), ensuring data integrity and process automation where possible.
Support senior management in preparing financial models, valuation analysis, scenario runs and sensitivity analyses for investor discussions and fundraising exercises.
Participate in investor / analyst / stakeholder meetings as needed, articulating the financial story and key drivers behind the business.
Act as a trusted business partner to R&D, operations and commercial teams, helping them understand financial implications of strategic and operational decisions.
Support pricing analysis, cost-benefit assessments, project evaluations and other ad‑hoc financial studies to support business development initiatives.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulatory requirements, including those applicable to a group-backed entity.
The Successful Applicant
Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; professional qualification (HKICPA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent) preferred.
At least 10 years+ progressive experience in finance and accounting.
Experience related to start‑up / fast‑growing business / pharmaceutical / biotech / R&D is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in building or improving finance processes, policies and systems, particularly in a lean or evolving organisation.
Experience supporting fundraising, investor relations, corporate finance projects will be a strong plus.
Hands‑on, detail‑minded and comfortable rolling up sleeves, with the maturity to engage senior stakeholders and contribute at a strategic level.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and structured manner.
Proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English is required.
