About the Role The Site Engineer oversees on-site construction activities for hospitality projects, ensuring that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and statutory requirements.
The role ensures quality, safety, and timely delivery of high-end hospitality developments in Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities Supervise and monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with approved architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and local building regulations Conduct regular inspections and quality checks, particularly focusing on high-end finishes Participate in site meetings, internal meetings with Artelia team members, contractor and supplier meeting.
Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to resolve technical and site-related issues promptly Keep record of design, shop drawings and ensure that contractors are working with the latest approved design ("for construction")Supervise works – in particular material entering in the building - on a continuous basis, ensuring that construction is carried out in compliance with latest design and technical specifications Ensure all works meet the standards expected in luxury hospitality environments, including attention to detail, materials, and workmanship Review and verify construction materials, shop drawings, method statements, and work programs Maintain accurate site records, including inspection reports, site diaries, and photographic documentation Check quantities in case of discrepancies found with the Bo Q.
Monitor progress against project timelines and report any delays or deviations Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards as per Hong Kong regulations Attend commissioning tests and carry out inspections prior hand-over – draft snagging lists.
Make sure that recorded defects are timely made good Attend inspections by authorities (in particular fire protection system)Qualifications Degree or Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building, or related discipline Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in hospitality or high-end commercial projects in Hong Kong Familiarity with Hong Kong local construction practices Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural and interior drawings Strong communication and coordination skills in both English and Cantonese, with Cantonese proficiency being essential.
