INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES OFFICESpecialist / Assistant Specialist (Teaching & Learning Support) (Temporary Appointment) (Ref (Appointment period: twelve months)Duties The appointee will be required to:(a) support setup, maintenance, integration, troubleshooting of Learning Management System (LMS) and various IT systems and applications related to Teaching and Learning (e.g.
MS Teams, Zoom, Turnitin, etc.);(b) provide consultation and assistance to University staff and students on IT and teaching and learning support tools via hotlines and other established channels;(c) handle user requests and provide technical support to application users;(d) maintain web and server-to-server applications, including LTI integration, programming, testing, implementation, and other related support services;(e) perform data collection, analysis, and programming support for teaching and learning data;(f) perform data integration, ETL, and data mapping activities;(g) prepare documentation, including functional/technical specifications and user guides for applications;(h) develop and deliver training sessions or workshops focused on teaching and learning applications;(i) provide non-office-hour standby/emergency support duties as and when required; and(j) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.
Qualifications Applicants should:(a) have a recognised degree OR higher diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Multimedia Technology, or a related discipline with relevant experience;(b) have hands-on experience in supporting teaching and learning platform (e.g.
Blackboard or Canvas) and related IT systems (e.g.
MS Teams, Zoom, Turnitin, etc.), including setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and user support;(c) have hands-on experience in web and server-to-server applications, including Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) integration, programming, testing, and implementation;(d) have experience in SQL and relational databases such as MSSQL or My SQL;(e) have experience in React, , Type Script, HTML, Java Script, and CSS;(f) be proactive, able to work independently, and collaborate effectively as a team player;(g) possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; and(h) be proficient in written and spoken English, and preferably fluent in written and spoken Chinese, including Putonghua.
