Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee actuarial analysis and modeling activities, including pricing, reserving, valuation, and financial projections.
Develop and maintain actuarial models, assumptions, and methodologies to support business decisions.
Manage the process of reserving for life insurance policies and other liabilities.
Perform IFRS 17 reporting and business planning to support business decision making.
Maintain and enhance financial valuation system, including actuarial modeling.
Prepare and review actuarial reports, financial statements, and regulatory filings.
Analyze financial results, trends, and key performance indicators to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
Perform experience studies and assumptions setting.
Monitor and review loss experience, claim trends, and emerging risks to accurately project future liabilities and maintain adequate reserves.
Ensure compliance with actuarial and regulatory requirements, including those set by regulatory bodies.
Support the HKRBC reporting, including model enhancement and result analysis.
Supervise and mentor a team of junior actuaries and actuarial analysts.
Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback.
Allocate resources and manage workloads to ensure timely and accurate delivery of actuarial analyses and reports.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including underwriting, finance, risk management, and investment.
Communicate actuarial findings, recommendations, and insights effectively to stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging actuarial practices, and advancements in actuarial modeling and analytics.
Leverage research and industry knowledge to enhance actuarial methodologies and promote innovation within the organization.
Maintain professional actuarial credentials and stay current with continuing education requirements.
Participate in industry conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance actuarial knowledge and expertise.
Provide ad‑hoc support to the department head.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Actuarial Science or related disciplines.
Qualifications with recognized actuarial organizations or in good progress.
Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in the actuarial field.
Technical experience working on key actuarial and financial metrics.
Strong technical knowledge in financial reporting.
Knowledge in IFRS 17/HKRBC is preferred.
Demonstrated initiative, commitment, and high level of creativity for proposing recommendations for improving current processes pro‑actively.
Good planning and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and in an agile manner with minimal supervision.
Mandarin proficiency is preferred.
Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
We offer a 5‑day workweek. Remuneration package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
